We had time to squeeze in one more trip this summer before school started.
Our friends asked us if we wanted to go to Cedar Point (a huge amusement park--largest/fastest/highest in the world), and we jumped right on board. Yes, taking all of our kids to a place like that could have been crazy, but hey, we are crazy, lol. It turned out to be a really great day--we couldn't have asked for better.
There was plenty to do for the littles (even Jack and Henry), and really no lines for them to speak of--which definitely contributed to the smoothness and ease of the day. Standing in long lines to ride on the Snoopy Camp Bus wouldn't have been quite as fun, lol.
Rick and I were able to get the big rides in (can I just say AMAZING!!!! There really is nothing like going from 0 to 120mph in 3.8 seconds while going straight up in the air 420 feet) and between our families, everyone was able to do what they wanted to.The only person that had a hard time was my Kate. She wanted to ride every single ride and roller coaster, and she fell shy of the height requirement by about an inch and half. We took her on every ride possible, and she loved it. She's already talking about next year, when she grows up.
It was a long day--we got up at 4am to leave by 5am, then didn't get home until 2am, but they were all troopers. Watching movies and eating snacks in the car doesn't hurt either.
Kate was thrilled to be riding the sky tram.
This ride was a hit--my boys are both crazy about cars and trucks!
I thought Henry would be more nervous, but he wanted Rick to turn the wheel faster and faster.
Holding hands, ready for the next ride.
Trying again, but still not tall enough.
Our families were large enough that we qualified for the group rate, lol.
Another VERY good reason I love Cedar Point.
We had dried off a little at this point, but we were wet from head to toe!
Jack jack held on longer than the rest, but not too much longer.
I love summer. It's going to be hard to see it end.

That picture of (I think) Henry giving Snoopy five is PERFECT.
I'm surprised Kate wasn't up on her tippy toes trying to be taller ; )
Looks like a fun place for the whole family. And getting a group rate--DEFINITELY A BONUS.
Sounds and looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Sometimes the last minute trips are the best!
I love that he is totally awake. There is always one. What a fun family trip. I am so sad that summer is over. Your kids are darling.
Okay so I didn't even know that Cedar Point had those rides! My kids run me straight to the rides that we wait in lines forever and then I question why I am agreeing to get on them. I admit that I love most of them but there are a few that really make me remember my age! Love Cedar Point. As always love reading your blog as well. :)
You were one brave momma to take on such a long day but it looks like it paid off. I love that Jack, wide awake in those last few pictures and that picture of you and Kate together...I don't think I ever realized how simiar you two look. What a fun adventure!
So glad you guys had a duper fun day!
Fun day! Looks like you all had a great time. I LOVE Snoopy!!!! My favorite picture is the car one where all the children are sleeping. Cute. One of my daughters has the same car seat.
fun!! oh how I love summer
Love it! I am so jealous because I am an amusement park junkie! LOVE the roller coasters! And I love that you got a group rate! That's just AWESOME!
Okay I am curious about the car arrangement. What do you drive? And I assume your son has to fold his seat down and the girls have to climb in over it every time? And is your son in a booster seat? We are outgrowing our current arrangement and I'm trying to figure out what to do.
Your trip looks like such a good time!
Twins Squared--
We drive a Toyota Sequoia, and we love it. Ryan's seat does fold up against the front passenger seat, and it usually stays up the majority of the time. He doesn't have to be in a booster anymore, so I don't have to move anything out of the way to fold it up. He is the only one in school, so most of the time he isn't in the car, and I just leave the seat folded up.
If he's in the car, then he lets the girls in first, then puts his seat down. It really hasn't been a problem at all, and is actually a pretty quick process. We had more of a problem finding a vehicle that would fit 4 large car seats--we needed one that had three FULL seats across the middle, and there really aren't very many that do. We also went with Sunshine Kids car seats for the boys--they are extra narrow, and you can actually fit three across a middle seat. They go up to 85 pounds, so they can stay in them for a long time.
Good luck! I think it has been one of the hardest things to figure out, lol.
Love it! I'm so sad we had to miss out - definitely next year :) You are one brave mama so I'm so glad everything went well and you guys had so much fun!
What a fun day! I love Jack's face in the car. What a cute little boy:)
