[nativity 2011}

Acting out the Nativity has long been one of our favorite Christmas Eve traditions.

It usually takes at least five takes to get a presentable final product, especially with such little kids, and this year was no exception.  We had baby Jesus stolen from his manger by the shepherd, Joseph beat up by the shepherd (notice a trend here?), the angel was losing her robe, and Mary fell of the donkey.  In the end we managed to get a version that was pretty good, but at that point anything short of chaos would have been acceptable.

Cast: (in order of appearance)

Donkey: Ryan
Mary: Emma
Joseph: Jack
Shepherd: Henry
Angel: Kate

It really is our little family's celebration of the birth of our Savior, and we are so grateful for Him--for His teachings, His life, and especially His sacrifice for us.

We always act it out with Greg's family also. It was fun this year Brooklin got to be a sheep!

I too look forward to your nativity video each year. I see that Rick has graduated from donkey to narrator! Don't get me wrong Ryan was great as a donkey but I missed Rick down on all fours this year.

Okay, is THIS my favorite part of Christmas? Watching your nativity? I'm having a hard time deciding. My heart gets so warm, and I hope so much that you'll continue sharing... remember when they were all just tiny?!
